As you have seen in your stay so far (or you are about to learn), Bristol is a very unique and cultural place to live. Through all of the street art and many excellent cuisines, Bristol always has something for everyone. Between day life and night life, Bristol has a plethora of new and exciting experiences for you to discover. We invite you to spend the summer with us, here at Canvas Bristol.

1. Bristol Tours 

As there are so many sites to see in Bristol, it may be a bit much on your feet. If this applies to you, try a Hop-on Hop-off tour! There are many buses to choose from that will tell you more and more about Bristol. Enjoy a nice ride, while learning various facts about the city you inhabit.

If you do enjoy walking, however, this might be more your speed. Sign up for a self-guided audio tour that takes you around the city at a pace that is to your liking. Find a tour for yourself or for your mates to immerse in Bristol life and history.

Bristol is full of street art. Not to mention it is the hometown of famous street artist, Banksy. This artist has many displays in Bristol, London, and has even made appearances in the United States. Sign up for a Banksy walking tour to be guided around this artist’s most classic pieces.

2. Museums In Bristol

While Bristol has an artsy side, it also has an intellectual side. Through its immense history and culture, this city has many museums for you to delve into. Visit the We The Curious Museum containing three large floors full of science and origins of our past. Fun for all ages, this museum is interactive and a great activity for a rainy day.

Or you can visit Aerospace Bristol, a museum designated to aviation history and technology. Look at displays and galleries of different kids of planes, jets, helicopters, etc.

However, if you are looking for something a little less stimulating, Bristol also has a zoo and aquarium. The zoo has an abundance of animals to come check out and the aquarium has more than 40 displays of aquatic life.

3. Outside Activities 

Since Bristol is alongside a river, there are many restaurants and pubs that have a fun view and great vibe. Go pub-hopping or try different bites to eat, as you make your way down the river. Not to mention, you can hop on a boat tour or ride down the river to relax or to take in more sights. Go for a nice walk or bike ride at Castle Park, only a few minutes away from Canvas Bristol.

An interesting fact about Bristol is that it was the birthplace to one of the most famous pirates of all time, Blackbeard. Today, you can sign up for an exciting, riverside and pub tour whilst learning about Blackbeard and his time spent in Bristol.

4. Events & Social Life

June is Pride Month, so Bristol will be celebrating all month long. There will be many festivities as well as parades and a booming night life. Bristol contains two gay districts that will have many events to jump in on.

5. Festivals 

A summer in Bristol is made up of countless festivals and concerts. Start with Motion’s Summer Solstice Garden party on June 18th where you can enjoy great food, drinks, and music.

Next, get ready for Nass festival beginning on July 7th. This four day festival will have many kinds of different music, as well as art and BMX.

Before classes begin, finish off the summer with the Tokyo World festival. Dive into different culture and experience something new with this urban music and dance festival.
